Single Trip Comprehensive Plan

This is the most complete PC Financial travel insurance coverage offered. It includes:

If you are eligible, your quote will automatically include a discounted family rate. You pay the premium for the two oldest family members in the travelling party and get coverage for up to five other dependent children for free!

For the family plan, dependent children can be up to age 21 (age 26 years for full time students) and must be unmarried and rely on you for support and care. Dependent children who are mentally or physically incapable of self-support can be of any age.

Extending Your Trip

If you think your trip might be longer than planned, simply call us in advance at 1-866-283-9233 to extend your coverage. To extend trips to Cuba, please call 1-855-627-2496. You must extend your coverage before your plan expires.

When you purchase your PC Financial Single Trip Comprehensive Plan you can add on any of the optional coverage listed below to protect you in special situations.

Rental Car Protection Option

• Up to $50,000 for loss or damage of your rental due to collision or theft
• Covers trips up to 60 days

Cruise and Tour Protector Option

• Select expenses due to cancellation or schedule change of your cruise
• Up to $1,000 for airfare to connect with another cruise or tour
• Up to $100 for meals and accommodation

Golf or Ski Protector Option

• Up to $2,500 for lost, stolen, or damaged equipment
• Up to $200 for equipment rental if your gear is lost or delayed
• Up to $500 for missed greens fees, golf lessons, rental equipment, and unused ski lift tickets

Business Protector Option

• Up to $2,500 for lost, stolen or damaged business equipment
• Up to $200 for delayed arrival of business equipment
• Up to $200 for emergency business equipment rental if your business equipment is lost or delayed

Special Events Protector Option

• Same class ticket benefit: Covers transportation on same class ticket if your flight is cancelled
• Up to $600 for additional transportation costs on a scheduled carrier
• Event benefit: Up to $100 for missed pre-booked event tickets
• Entertainment benefit: Increased meals and accommodation allowance of up to an additional $500 per day, maximum of $5,000 as a medical benefit or up to a maximum of $1,000 as a non-refundable medical benefit

Our rates and large families

If you have a large family, purchase a single trip medical or comprehensive plan and your quote will automatically include our family rates. All you need to do is pay the premium for the two oldest family members in the traveling party and get emergency medical coverage for up to five other dependent children for free.

Dependent children can be up to age 21 (age 26 years for full time students) and must be unmarried and rely on you for support and care. Dependent children who are mentally or physically incapable of self-support can be of any age.

Step 2:
Have your details ready

You'll be asked to provide the following:

• Your name, home address and email address
• Policy number
• Your current location
• Phone number where you can be reached

You will be directed to the nearest appropriate medical facility or licensed practitioner. A file number will be given to you for future reference to help make your claim. Your claim rep will advise you of the claim process for your particular claim.

Step 3:
Keep track of your bills

Make sure you keep track of all your bills, invoices, receipts, vouchers and any other relevant documents.

Mail in your claim

• Once received, complete a travel insurance claim form
• Make a copy of your completed claim form and all receipts/invoices for your records, attach the original receipt(s) to the claim form and mail it to one of the following addresses:

Receiving your claim cheque

Your claim should be processed within seven business days from the date when the insurance company receives all the necessary documents from you and your health care provider. For most claims, you will receive a cheque for the amount of the covered claim.

What We Earn
PC Financial Insurance Broker Inc.

For auto and home insurance, we earn a percentage of premium when a new policy is sold or an existing policy is renewed. Based on the financial performance of the policies that we have sold, we also earn additional compensation, which is not guaranteed. That compensation is determined based on the profit (if any) which is generated over time by all of the auto and home insurance policies we have placed with a particular insurance company. Some of our operating and marketing expenses are also reimbursed.

Below, we have listed the insurance companies with whom we have contracts and we show the range of commission percentage that is paid to us, each policy term, for both new policies and renewals.

There is no direct or indirect ownership interest of any insurance company in PC Broker, nor any loan to, or financial guarantee in favour of, PC Broker from any insurance company. PC Broker is an affiliate of PC Bank, both of which are affiliated companies of Loblaws Inc.

PC Financial Insurance Agency Inc.

For pet insurance, we earn a percentage of premium when a new policy is sold or an existing policy is renewed. Based on the financial performance of the policies we have sold, we also earn additional compensation, which is not guaranteed. That compensation is calculated as a percentage of the profit (if any) which is generated in any given year by the PC Financial pet insurance policies we have sold. We also receive an expense reimbursement for each new policy sold to cover some of our operating and marketing expenses.

For travel insurance, we earn a percentage of premium for every policy sold. Based on the financial performance of the policies that we have sold, we also earn additional compensation which is not guaranteed. That compensation is calculated as a percentage of the profit (if any) which is generated in any given year by the PC Financial travel insurance policies we have sold. Some of our incurred marketing expenses are also reimbursed.

PC Financial Home and Auto Insurance Claims Service Guarantee:

If you are dissatisfied with the service you receive from the insurer during the settlement of a covered claim and we are unable to help remedy the situation, you will receive a President's Choice® gift card (minimum value $25), in addition to the settlement amount from your insurer. The claims service guarantee extends to your satisfaction with the service you receive, not the insurer's decision on coverage or evaluation.

This guarantee is not applicable in the case of disasters or catastrophes, such as ice storms, hailstorms, hurricanes, tornados, blackouts, forest fires, or any event beyond our control, including unusual market conditions that would impact the ability to service your claim. This guarantee may be amended or terminated at any time.

This guarantee applies to home and auto personal insurance policy claims in the provinces of Alberta, Ontario, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI effective March 1, 2011.

The guarantee does not extend to warranty coverage.

Gift cards will not be issued under the following circumstances:
There is a disagreement on coverage
There is a disagreement on a settlement amount
The claim has been denied due to a policy exclusion or violation of a statutory condition
The service failure has been made or caused by the policyholder
There is a disagreement with respect to a fault determination
