  • How do I apply for a President's Choice Financial MasterCard?

    There are four ways to apply:

    1. Click here to apply online
    2. Print an application and mail it to us at the following address:

    3. Pick up an application at a participating supermarket. Applications are available at all store checkouts (excluding Quebec).

  • When can I expect to receive my new PC MasterCard?

    From the time we receive your application, it takes approximately 2-3 weeks for you to receive your new card. Your Welcome Kit will include not only your PC MasterCard, but also your Cardholder Agreement, your Certificate of Insurance and a handy Benefits Guide which details the card's many advantages and other useful information that you also get here, so that you get the most out of your new card.

  • How can I sign up for extra protection offered by the low-cost optional products?

    You can select Account Balance Protection insurance at the time you apply for your card. If you're applying online, you can add any of these products at the time of application. Or, once you've received your card, simply call us at 1-866-246-PCMC(7262) or sign in to your account online to add a low-cost extra. Learn more about our low-cost options:

    The President's Choice Financial MasterCard includes the following benefits:

  • Where can I use my President's Choice Financial MasterCard?

    The President's Choice Financial MasterCard is accepted at millions of member locations worldwide. Carry it with you whether you're shopping, on vacation or dining at your favourite restaurant. Your President's Choice Financial MasterCard is accepted at over a million bank machines worldwide, along with banks, currency exchange locations, stores, restaurants etc. Use it anywhere the Cirrus®, or Maestro® logos, or the MasterCard® symbol are displayed.

  • How many additional cardholders can I add to my President's Choice Financial MasterCard?

    The maximum number of additional cardholders you can add to your account is four. There is no charge for these additional cardholders. All additional cardholders will be considered authorized users. You will be 100% responsible for all transactions made by authorized users on your account. Please note that in order to add any additional cardholder, both the primary cardholder and the additional authorized user will need to sign the application for the additional card.

  • What should I do if my card is lost or stolen?

    Contact us immediately at 1-866-246-PCMC (7262). Try to have your credit card number handy so we can cancel the lost/stolen account immediately.

    If your card is lost or stolen while traveling, call MasterCard Global Service 24/7 free of charge for immediate assistance:

    Within Canada and the U.S. Call toll-free 1-866-246-PCMC (7262)
    Outside Canada or the U.S. call collect 647-426-1343

    Your lost or stolen MasterCard will be cancelled immediately and a new one will be on its way – wherever you are – often within 2 business days. If needed, you can get an emergency cash advance while your replacement card is on its way (provided you have the available credit).

  • Will I be able to use my new chip card outside of Canada?

    Yes. Many countries have already successfully adopted chip technology, and Canadian chip cards will be fully compatible with these systems. In countries that have yet to switch to chip technology, you will be able to use your card by swiping your magnetic stripe and providing your signature.

FAQs about Chip and PIN Technology

  • How do I change my PIN on my PC Financial MasterCard?

    You can either:

    • Contact President's Choice Financial MasterCard Customer Service by calling the telephone number located on the back of your card.
    • If you know your current PIN visit the online President's Choice Store Finder, scroll down and check the box for 'PC MasterCard PIN change' to search for a store that has PC Financial MasterCard PIN change capabilities.

    Make sure when you are changing your Personal Identification Number (PIN) that you do not use any obvious numbers, your birth date, or part of your phone number. Don't divulge your PIN to anyone.

  • Where do I find my PIN?

    All pertinent information regarding your chip and PIN PC Financial MasterCard will be sent to you, including details on how to create a secure PIN. Please remember never to write down the PIN that you select, or store it electronically.

  • How can you protect the security of your PIN?

    Your PIN is very important. You should memorize your PIN and never disclose it to anyone. Your PIN should be easy for you to remember, but not easily guessed by others.

    • Don't write your PIN down or store it electronically.
    • Never give your PIN to anyone including over the phone, online or by email.
    • Protect your PIN. Use your hand and/or body to shield your PIN when you enter it.
  • Will the new chip and PIN PC Financial MasterCard still have a magnetic stripe?

    While more and more merchants are adopting this new technology, it will take a few years for every store and restaurant to be set up with chip-enabled terminals. To ensure that that the chip and PIN PC Financial MasterCard is still accepted, it features a magnetic stripe. Therefore, you will need to sign for purchases at merchants who do not have chip-enabled terminals.

  • What if my PC Financial MasterCard is lost or stolen?

    If your chip and PIN PC Financial MasterCard is lost or stolen, call us immediately
    at 1-866-246-PCMC (7262).

FAQs about your account

  • How often do I have to make a payment on my account?

    If there is a balance on your account, you will receive account statements monthly and you must pay at least the minimum payment due by the payment due date shown on your account statement. Payments must be made in Canadian currency.

    If you fail to pay at least the minimum payment due by the payment due date for two consecutive billing periods, the default interest rate will be applied to your account balance. Please see the "good standing" section in your cardholder agreement for more information.

  • How do I pay my account?

    There are three ways to pay your PC MasterCard:

    • 1) Online, telephone, bank machine: Automated payments are your quickest and most convenient option. Online, telephone and bank machine payments at most major financial institutions are credited the same day provided you make your payment by 5pm CST on a banking day. These payments are reflected on your online summary 2-3 days afterwards.
    • 2) Mail in: Use the return envelope that may be included with your mailed statement to make a payment by mail. If using your own envelope, address it to: President's Choice Financial MasterCard, P.O. Box 4405, STN A, Toronto, ON M5W 5Y6. Be sure to include the top portion of your statement along with your cheque or money order payable to "President's Choice Financial MasterCard"?. It can take 7 to 10 business days for President's Choice Financial MasterCard to receive payments through Canada Post. Payments are posted to your account the day President's Choice Financial MasterCard receives the payment, so make sure you've allowed enough time for your payment to arrive.
    • 3) In-branch: If you bank at one of the following institutions, you can make payments at your local branch (or bank machine, if applicable.) Cardholders may pay in-branch, over the counter, at the following financial institutions; however, these financial institutions may charge a fee for the service. The service provided is at the discretion of the financial institution and may take up to 10 business days to reach President's Choice Financial MasterCard. Payments are posted to the cardholder's account the day President's Choice Financial MasterCard receives notice of the payment.

  • Can I pay other bills with my PC MasterCard?

    Yes, you can set up automatic bill payments from your President's Choice Financial MasterCard so you'll never be late paying a bill. Plus, you'll earn PC points – which makes paying bills a lot more rewarding!

    To set up automatic bill payments for utilities, telephone, cable TV, internet, health clubs, insurance, and more simply contact the companies issuing your bills to arrange it.

    If your card number or expiry date changes, be sure to contact all companies that you've set up automatic bill payments with to update your billing information.

    Please note certain merchants may register with MasterCard International Incorporated to receive automatic updates regarding your President's Choice Financial account, such as changes to your account number, expiry date and status of your account. Unless you opt-out by calling us at 1-866-246-PCMC (7262), those merchants will receive those updates. Since not all merchants will register to receive this service from MasterCard International Incorporated, you remain responsible for updating merchants with whom you have set up pre-authorized payments.

  • Can I access and manage my account directly online?

    Yes, there are a number of ways to manage your account online, including:

    • Access electronic statements
    • Review a minimum of 6 months of your past account transactions.
    • Check your account balance, available credit, payment due, previous payments and other account information.
    • Review recent transactions.
    • Sort your transactions.
    • Download your transactional information.
    • Subscribe to e-alerts to receive notifications.
    • Make special requests such as requesting a customized PIN or changing your account profile.
    • Request a credit limit increase.

FAQs about your statement

  • How often do I receive my President's Choice Financial MasterCard statement?

    If there is a balance on your account, you will receive a statement each month either by mail or electronically.

  • Is my electronic statement the same as my monthly printed statement?

    Yes, your electronic statements will contain the same information as your printed statement. The advantage of electronic statements is that you will receive them faster than regular mail. Your transaction details can be downloaded from your online account.

  • What do I do if I think there's a mistake shown on my statement?

    If there is a transaction on your monthly statement that you don't recognize or want to dispute simply sign in to your account online and make an online disputed transaction request - or call 1-866-246-PCMC (7262) - within 30 days of the statement date and we will investigate on your behalf. And if you suspect that your PC MasterCard is being used without your knowledge or consent, please call 1-866-246-PCMC (7262) immediately and one of our customer associates will assist you.
