After we get your application, it takes approximately 5-7 business days for you to receive your new card. With your card comes a Welcome Kit including your PC Mastercard and Cardholder Agreement, your Certificate of Insurance, and a Benefits Guide that lays out all the advantages that come with your new card as well as other useful information to help you get the most out of your new card.

If you’d like to add this insurance to an existing credit card and have an online account, you can apply for Account Balance Protection insurance by clicking or tapping on “Accounts & Cards” and navigating to the card you want to set this up for. This insurance can cover* your minimum payments on your President’s Choice Financial Mastercard in case the unexpected happens to you or your spouse, so you have one less thing to worry about.

This optional insurance plan covers you in three different ways:

  1. If you were to become disabled or lose your job involuntarily before age 65 while enrolled in the plan, it pays 3% of your President’s Choice Financial Mastercard balance at the date of disability or job loss each month for up to 2 years starting after 30 days of disability or unemployment.
  2. If you were to be hospitalized for more than 7 consecutive days before age 70 while enrolled, it would make a one-time payment of 3% of the outstanding balance of your President’s Choice Financial Mastercard as of the date of hospitalization, up to $500.
  3. It would pay up to $15,000 to cover the outstanding balance on your President’s Choice Financial Mastercard as of the date of death or injury in the event of your loss of life or accidental dismemberment. This death and dismemberment benefit covers you and any authorized user who is your spouse.

The PC Financial Mastercard is accepted at millions of member locations worldwide. Whether you're shopping, on vacation or dining at your favourite restaurant your card is there for you. It’s also accepted at over a million bank machines worldwide, along with banks, currency exchange locations, stores, restaurants among other places. You can use it anywhere the Cirrus®, or Maestro® logos, or the Mastercard® symbol are displayed.
You can add up to four additional cardholders to your PC Financial Mastercard account. There’s no charge for these additional cardholders and they will all be considered authorized users.

As the primary cardholder, you will remain 100% responsible for all transactions made by all authorized users on your PC Financial Mastercard account, including any amounts incurred through the use of any additional cards issued on the account.

You are responsible to ensure your authorized users understand the cardholder agreement and the Loblaw Companies Limited Privacy Policy and how these documents apply to them, and that they use the card in accordance with the terms of the cardholder agreement.

We may give the authorized user certain information about the account, like the credit limit or information about a transaction. Additionally, any authorized users on your account may be able to view, obtain or be provided with information about your account, including transactions, balances, available credit, account status and payment details. Authorized users will be able to view monthly electronic statements and all of the transactions made by any cardholder on your account on an ongoing basis. You cannot limit, restrict or reduce the access or authority available to an Authorized User. Any Authorized User has the same degree of access to the Account as listed in this section, and each Authorized User will be able to access the activity of each Authorized User on the Account.

An Authorized User is able to access the full available credit limit of the credit card account and is able to charge purchases / cash advances to the credit card account. 

The credit limit of the account is shared amongst the primary cardholder and authorized users, no separate credit limit will be given to authorized users. 

You can add an authorized user to your account online.
Absolutely. Many countries have already successfully adopted chip technology, and Canadian chip cards will be fully compatible with these systems. In countries that have yet to switch to chip technology, you’ll be able to use your card by swiping your magnetic stripe and providing your signature.

Easy. 

  • You can do it online. Simply, sign into your online account and update your Personal Identification Number (PIN) from within the Card Management section found in the top navigation. 
  • You can contact Customer Service by calling the telephone number located on the back of your card.  

Make sure when you’re changing your PIN that you don’t use any obvious numbers, your birth date, or part of your phone number. Also, don't share your PIN to anyone.

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is incredibly important. . You should memorize it and never disclose it to anyone. Your PIN should be easy for you to remember, but not easily guessed by others.

  • Don't write your PIN down or store it electronically
  • Never give your PIN to anyone including over the phone, online or by email
  • Protect your PIN. Use your hand and/or body to shield your PIN when you enter it
Mastercard® SecureCodeTM adds an extra layer of protection by helping to confirm your identity through security questions, during select online transactions. Mastercard® SecureCodeTM lets you enjoy extra security and peace of mind when shopping online at participating merchants.
When you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, a box may automatically pop-up asking security questions. When you correctly answer the security questions, PC Financial Mastercard confirms that you are the authorized cardholder and permits your purchase to continue.

  • Purchases rate in effect when your account is approved: 19.97%
  • Cash Advance rate in effect when your account is approved: 22.97%.
  • Promotional balance transfers: 0.97% for 6 months for balance transfers¹ made within 90 days of account approval.

We may, with prior notice, increase your Purchases and Cash Advances rate to the Performance rate of 25.95% for Purchases and 27.95% for Cash Advances following a review of:

  • Your account use (including whether you exceeded your credit limit or had any dishonoured payment transactions), or
  • Your credit bureau reports and credit history.

Your interest rates will increase to the Default rate of 25.97% for Purchases and 27.97% for Cash Advances if you:

  • Do not make the minimum payment by the due date for two consecutive months, or
  • Are not in full compliance with the terms of your cardholder agreement.

A minimum of 21 days for new Purchases (meaning purchases which have not appeared on any previous statement) if you pay your entire current statement balance in full by the applicable due date, otherwise interest is charged from the transaction date.

The interest-free grace period does not apply to Cash Advances (which include balance transfers and convenience cheques), and interest is charged from the transaction date.

Cash Advance at a bank machine or teller in Canada: $3.50 Cash advance outside Canada: $5 Overlimit charge if over the credit limit on statement date: $29 (for Quebec residents as of July 1, 2019 statements: $0); Cash equivalent transaction (such as for a wire transfer or money order): 1% (minimum $5, maximum $10); Dishonoured payment or convenience cheque: $42; Copy of a sales draft: $10 (for Quebec residents as of July 1, 2019: $0); Copy of a previous account statement: $10; Credit balance refund made by cheque: $20 Balance Transfer: 1% of the transferred amount will be charged for balance transfers requested 6 months or more after account approval. Inactive account: if on your statement date there is a credit balance on your account and there has been no activity on your account (meaning no debits, credits, interest or fees) for the preceding 12 consecutive months, your account is subject to a fee equal to the lesser of $10 or the credit balance amount.

Yes, new customers get a rate of 0.97% for 6 months on balances transferred from other higher-interest credit cards.

You can report a card lost or stolen through your PC Financial online account. Once signed in, navigate to “Accounts & Cards”. Make sure you’re toggled to “Cards” and select the card you’d like to lock. Select the "Report lost/damaged card" button and follow the instructions on-screen.

We can send you a replacement card for any lost/stolen or damaged cards. Let us know a little bit about the issue you're having and we'll send your replacement card, free of charge, within 10 business days. Please note that for security purposes we permanently lock your old card once you have ordered a replacement card.

FAQs about your account

When you correctly answer the security questions during an online purchase at a participating merchant, PC Financial Mastercard confirms that you are the authorized cardholder and permits your purchase to continue. If the security questions are answered incorrectly, the purchase will not go through. So even if someone knew your card number, they would not be able to use your account at that merchant.
Aside from the added protection that Mastercard® SecureCodeTM provides, the only impact to your purchase will be that you may need to answer the security questions when the request box pops up, and then wait a few seconds while PC Financial Mastercard confirms your identity.
If you cannot answer them, or answer them incorrectly, you will not be able to proceed with the transaction. You will need to contact PC Financial Mastercard at 1-866-246-7262 to further assist you with the information needed to make the online transaction.
This pop up box may appear when you are shopping online at participating Mastercard® SecureCodeTM merchants. Once you have answered the security questions and we have confirmed your identity, you will be able to continue with your purchase.
If you are not able to confirm your identity through the security questions, you will not be able to proceed with your purchase. You will need to contact PC Financial Mastercard at 1-866-246-7262 to further assist you with the information needed to make the online transaction.

Mastercard® SecureCodeTM functions best with Microsoft Internet Explorer version 8.0 or above, Chrome 42 or above and Firefox 37 or above. If you have a different browser and need assistance, please contact President's Choice Financial® Mastercard® at 1-866-246-7262.
If there’s a balance on your account, you’ll receive account statements monthly either online electronically or by postal mail, depending on your account preferences. You need to pay at least the minimum payment due by the payment due date shown on your account statement. Payments must be made in Canadian currency.

If you fail to pay at least the minimum payment due by the payment due date for two consecutive billing periods, the default interest rate will be applied to your account balance. Please see the "good standing" section in your cardholder agreement for more information.

There are three ways to pay your PC Financial Mastercard:

  1. Online, telephone, bank machine: Electronic payments are your quickest and most convenient option. Online, telephone and bank machine payments at most major financial institutions are credited the same day provided you make your payment by 5pm CST (Central Time) on a banking day. These payments are reflected on your online summary 2-3 days afterwards. 
  2. Mail in: Address your envelope, to: PC Financial Mastercard, P.O. Box 4405, STN A, Toronto, ON M5W 5Y6. Be sure to include the top portion of your statement along with your cheque or money order payable to "PC Financial Mastercard". It can take 7 to 10 business days for PC Financial Mastercard to receive payments through Canada Post. Payments are posted to your account the day PC Financial Mastercard receives the payment, so make sure you've allowed enough time for your payment to arrive. 
  3. In-branch: If you bank at one of the following institutions, you can make payments at your local branch (or bank machine, if applicable). Cardholders may pay in-branch, over the counter, at the following financial institutions; however, these financial institutions may charge a fee for the service. The service provided is at the discretion of the financial institution and may take up to 10 business days to reach PC Financial Mastercard. Payments are posted to the cardholder's account the day PC Financial Mastercard receives notice of the payment.

Yes. You can set up automatic bill payments from your PC Financial Mastercard so you'll never be late paying a bill. Plus, you'll earn PC Optimum points – to make your bill paying a lot more rewarding.

To set up payments for utilities, telephone, cable TV, internet, health clubs, insurance, and more simply contact the companies issuing your bills to arrange it.

If your card number or expiry date changes, be sure to contact all companies that you've set up automatic bill payments with to update your billing information.
Any past due amounts, plus: your statement balance if $10 or less, or the greater of (a) $10 (b) 2.2% of your total statement balance (5% for new accounts issued to Quebec residents as of July 1, 2019), or (c) The interest charges and fees billed on the current statement plus $1.
When a transaction in a foreign currency is posted to your Account, you will be charged a Foreign Currency Conversion Markup which is a percentage of the amount of the transaction that is charged for purchases and cash advances and deducted from refunds and credits. The Foreign Currency Conversion Markup percentage is disclosed in your Disclosure Summary. The Mastercard exchange rate and Foreign Currency Conversion Markup percentage are incorporated into the conversion rate and the Canadian dollar transaction amount shown on your statement.

Two step verification is how PC Financial offers an extra layer of protection to ensure that you and only you have access to your account. You will be required to set up your 2 step verification when you enroll for a PC Financial online account. A code will replace personal verification questions and be sent to you by email, text or voice.
Yes, you can request a new set of 10 convenience cheques anytime. Simply sign in to your PC Financial online account and request a set of convenience cheques under Settings, Convenience Cheques, and you’ll receive your cheques in 7-10 business days. Click here to get started.
You can request a credit limit increase or decrease through your PC Financial online account. 

Once signed in, navigate to “Accounts & Cards”. Make sure you’re toggled to “Accounts” and select the account you’d like to change your credit limit for.  Select the "Credit Limit button and follow instructions on-screen to change your credit limit.
You can request a replacement card by singing into your PC Financial online account and select Replace Card under Settings. Your new card will arrive in up to 10 business days. Please note, when ordering a new card we will immediately lock your old card. Click here to get started.
Yes, you can lock your card if you want to temporarily disable it without replacing it. 

Temporarily locking a card online:
You can lock your card if you temporarily misplace it and don’t want to change your account number or report it as lost or stolen. Once locked, it’s easy to unlock your card online.

When you lock your card you will no longer be able to make any new purchases (in-store, online or over the phone) or make any cash withdrawals. You can still move money, make bill payments, incur fees, incur interest on overdraft, and redeem rewards. Some exempted transactions may still go through when you lock your card.

To lock your card through your PC Financial online account. Once signed in, navigate to “Accounts & Cards”. Make sure you’re toggled to “Cards” and select the card you’d like to lock. Select the "Lock card" button and follow instructions on-screen.
You can change your account nickname through your PC Financial online account. Once signed in, navigate to “Accounts & Cards”. Make sure you’re toggled to “Account” and select the account you’d like to change your nickname for. Select "Nickname” to edit that account's nickname.
You can manage your notification or communication preferences through your PC Financial online account.

On the web
Navigate to your profile menu by selecting your profile picture (or the placeholder image if you haven't uploaded a profile picture yet) in the top right corner of the screen. Select “Notification preferences”. 

On the mobile app
Navigate to your profile menu by tapping the “more” button (last button in the bottom row with 4 dots). Select “Notification preferences”. Make sure the correct account is selected by looking at the drop down menu and the top of the screen.
 
We offer a number of notification options to help manage your account, from purchase notices you set, to monthly payment due notices. Notifications can be sent by email or text or in-app through your PC Financial online account.

Navigate to your profile settings by selecting your profile picture (or the placeholder image if you haven’t uploaded a profile picture) in the top right corner of the screen.  Select “Notification preferences". 

On the mobile app

Your authorized user can enroll for their own online account and has view rights to certain information your account, including transactions, balances, available credit, account status, and payment details. Authorized users may view monthly electronic statements and all of the transactions made by any cardholder on your account on an ongoing basis. Authorized users are not permitted to make changes to the account, only the Primary cardholder has those rights

The authorized user can manage their profile online and subscribe to alerts.
You can add and manage authorized users on your credit card through your PC Financial online account on desktop or through the mobile app. 

Once signed in, navigate to “Accounts & Cards”. Make sure you’re toggled to “Accounts” and select the account you'd like to add an authorized user to.

Please note that to remove an authorized user you must call 1 866 246 7262.

Note: Your authorized user will not see the name you have given their card even if they have an online account. 
We will address your request within 48 hrs. You will see a notification in the message center that either your request has been fully processed, there’s an update to request status, or a message from one of our service representatives about your request needing more information or confirming the request details. 

You can view your messages by signing into your PC Financial online account. 

On the web

There are a few steps we'll take you through to sign in for the first time on the new website:

Sign in with your existing username and password.
Verify your account with your account number, card details and personal details.
Confirm your email address.
Confirm or set your username.
Set your new password. Your password must be at least 10 digits, include an upper and lower case letter, a number and a symbol. Your password cannot contain any portion of your username.
Accept the Terms and Conditions.
Set up two-step verification. This is the channel where your secondary verification code will be sent as an added layer of security when needed.
Optional: add your computer as a trusted device.

For your convenience, you can export your PC Financial Mastercard® transactions to a .csv file that can be used with standard spreadsheet software. Third-party financial management software file formats are currently not supported, but we continue to look at ways to improve the customer experience.

FAQs about your statement

Enrolling in electronic statements is easy! Simply sign into your PC Financial online account and click View Your Statements on the Dashboard screen.

This number represents the points you’ve earned with your PC Financial Mastercard during the given statement period. It doesn’t include any additional points you’ve earned through the PC Optimum program such as personalized offers.
We’ve grouped all transactions (with the exception of payment activities, which are listed separately), minus any returns, and calculated subtotals for each cardholder on your account. Now you can see exactly who spent what. These subtotals include any transactions made with a PayPass sticker or mobile wallet account that may be tied to your card. Payments are shown in a separate section of the statement.
As a PC Financial Mastercard credit card customer, you may be able to use your card to take out a cash advance at bank machines that accept Mastercard, write convenience cheques, or complete a money transfer. The cash limit refers to the maximum that you’re able to withdraw for these purposes. The cash available refers to the cash limit, minus any cash you’ve already used.
The credit limit is the maximum amount that can be charged to your account for purchases and cash transactions combined. The cash limit is the portion of your credit limit that you can specifically use for “cash” transactions (I.e. cash advance, convenience cheque or transfers). Your total credit limit includes your cash limit.
If there’s a balance or any activity on your account, you'll receive a statement each month either by mail or electronically depending on your account preferences.

You can stop paper statements anytime through your PC Financial online account. 

  1. Once signed in, navigate to "Accounts & Cards”
  2. Make sure you’re toggled to “Account” and select the account you’d like stop receiving paper statements for
  3. Select "E-statements". You should see an option to stop paper statements if paper statements are still active for the selected account

 

 

Yes, your electronic statements will contain the same information as your printed statement. The advantage of electronic statements is that you’ll get them more quickly than by postal mail and you'll have access to up to 24 months' worth of statements online. 

You can view your e-statements by logging into your PC Financial online account and navigating to "Accounts & Cards". Make sure you're toggled to "Accounts" and have selected the account you'd like to see e-statements for. Select "E-statements" to continue. 
If there is a transaction on your monthly statement that you don't recognize or want to dispute, simply sign in to your account online and make an online disputed transaction request. You can also call 1 866 246 PCMC (7262) within 30 days of the statement date and we’ll investigate on your behalf. If you suspect that your PC Mastercard is being used without your knowledge or consent, please call 1 866 246 PCMC (7262) immediately and one of our customer service representatives will assist you.
If there is a transaction on your monthly statement that you don't recognize and/or want to dispute you can dispute the transaction online.

Once signed into your PC Financial online account you can dispute the transaction by selecting the “Dispute this transaction” button in the detailed view of the transaction. 

If you suspect that your PC Mastercard is being used without your knowledge or consent, please call 1 866 246 7262 immediately and one of our customer service representatives will assist you.

If we need additional information, we’ll let you know. Please be aware that PC Financial Mastercard is governed by Mastercard Rules and Regulations and must abide by the timeframes established by Mastercard. 

Once a chargeback has been processed, a temporary credit for the disputed transaction will be applied to your account. Interest is not charged for a disputed transaction while under investigation. If you are paying your statement balance in full, you may deduct the disputed amount from your payment if you would like, while still benefiting from the interest free grace period on new purchases appearing for the first time on the statement. 

A merchant will have the opportunity to provide a rebuttal and this may take up to 45 days. If a rebuttal is received and further information is required, you will be contacted by our Dispute Resolution Team either by phone or mail. You will only be contacted if further information or details are required. 
Protecting yourself from unwanted activity 

Here are some helpful tips to keep in mind that will help protect you: 

  • When shopping online, be sure the website has “https” in the address line, which indicates it’s secure 
  • Always read the terms and conditions of the offer, purchase or contract before you provide your information, such as credit card number and personal contact details. Be wary of “Free Trials”. The terms and conditions for the “Free Trial” may indicate additional charges and products that you may not want. The only way to stop this will be for you to cancel with the merchant.
  • Contracts will always include cancellation conditions. Be aware and ensure you are comfortable with all of the conditions and address them with the merchant prior to committing if you are not. Our assistance may be limited to what’s specified in the terms you have agreed to
  • Be aware of your surroundings, and don’t present your card until it’s necessary and only if you are expecting to make a purchase. Don’t read your card number out loud in public; use your hand or body to keep your PIN hidden on keypads ; and ensure if a cashier asks for your card, it always remains in your sight.
  • Shred your statements and other papers that show your card number, rather than throwing them in the trash or recycle bin

The PC Optimum program is a loyalty program that lets you earn points on items you buy at participating stores; gives you access to bonus points events ; and, when you download the app or create an online account, also gives you offers tailored just for you.

Start by downloading the PC Optimum mobile app, or create an account online.

During the online account setup, you will be prompted to provide more information about your Shoppers Optimum, PC Plus and PC Financial accounts. After those verification steps, all your points will be brought together into one PC Optimum account.

If you don’t have all your account information during your account setup, not to worry. You can log back into your account later to add any additional information.
If you are an Authorized User of a PC Financial Mastercard, you will not see or have access to your primary cardholder’s points balance unless the primary cardholder chooses to add you to their Household. There are a couple of reasons why you might not be able to sign in, including the following: your account is locked, your PC Optimum card number is incorrect, your password is incorrect or your account has not been registered. 

Check to make sure you are entering the correct PC Optimum card number and password. If you’ve forgotten your password, we can reset it for you. Simply click the Forgot Password link during the sign-in process.

No. Your points do not expire. However, your account can be closed, if you do not earn or spend any PC Optimum points at least once every 2 years or if you don’t have an open PC Financial payment product registered to your account. The PC Optimum points you’ve earned using your President's Choice Financial Mastercard will be posted to your PC Optimum points statement within 3 business days from the date the transactions are posted to your President's Choice Financial Mastercard account.
President's Choice Financial Mastercard accounts that are jointly held, all PC Optimum points earned for spend on the card are awarded to the primary account holder's PC Optimum account.
No. Points are not transferable between members at this time. However, you can create a Household at PC Optimum and each member’s points will be added to the Household pool.
As a PC Optimum member, you have the opportunity to pool your points with those of up to 9 other PC Optimum members, for a total of 10 members. Household members do not need to be PC Financial customers. This grouping is called a “Household.” All members of a Household can contribute points to the same total, and all members have the opportunity to redeem from that same points total, too. 

You can join a Household only if another PC Optimum member invites you. Creating a Household is just as easy. Visit PC Optimum and through My Account, select Household and follow the instructions to invite up to 9 other PC Optimum members to pool their points with yours. 

When you join a Household, all of the PC Optimum points in your account are pooled with the points of all members of the Household. Any member of a Household may, at their sole discretion, spend any or all of the PC Optimum points that are held by members of that Household, including points that were earned by other members of the Household.

You can’t remove someone from a Household once they’ve accepted an invitation to join; however, you can leave a Household at any time. 

When someone leaves a Household, they leave with their share of points, which are calculated based on their contributions or redemptions relative to the total amount of points pooled. This points amount will be shown to a member prior to leaving the household.

The total portion of redemptions attributed to the exiting member will be subtracted from the total amount of points contributed.
When you register your PC Financial Mastercard at PC Optimum and use your card at the checkout of participating stores, the program tailors your offers to the products you purchased.

About Apple Pay

The PC Financial Mastercard allows purchases up to $200 via tap-enabled technology within our Loblaw locations. If the purchase amount is higher you will be prompted to use your physical plastic card.
Apple Pay works with iPhone 6 and later and Apple Watch in stores, and iPhone 6 and later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 and later within apps. For a list of compatible Apple Pay devices, see https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208531.
With Apple Pay, instead of using your actual credit card number when you add your card, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element, a dedicated chip in iPhone and Apple Watch. When you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process your payment. So your actual credit card number is never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with payment.
Yes. A dedicated chip in the device stores a unique, encrypted Device Account Number for each card number. When you make a purchase, the Device Account Number, along with a transaction-specific dynamic security code, is used to process the payment. So payments are secure because you are not handling the actual credit card numbers in your system when customers pay with Apple Pay.
If an iPhone is ever lost or stolen, you can use Find My iPhone to quickly put their device in Lost Mode to suspend Apple Pay, or you can wipe your device clean completely. You can also stop the ability to make payments from credit cards on your iPhone or Apple Watch with iCloud. Just sign in to iCloud.com and click Settings. If you have been using your PC Financial Mastercard in Apple Pay, you must also report it lost or stolen to President’s Choice Financial Mastercard at 1 866 246 PCMC (7262).
You will continue to earn PC Optimum points for every $1 spent on your PC Financial Mastercard. However, at this time, in order to keep earning PC Optimum points from personalized digital offers and on-shelf offers at Loblaw stores you must tap or scan a separate valid PC Optimum device (i.e. your PC Optimum card, key-fob, app, barcode within Apple Pay or plastic PC Financial Mastercard) PRIOR to paying with Apple Pay. If a customer’s phone is lost or stolen, they can find, lock, or erase it using Android Device Manager. If they lock their device, Google Pay can't be used. If their device can't be contacted, their payment information might be removed so no one can access it. If they find their device, they can unlock it and add their payment information again to use Google Pay.

Yes. Google Pay is secure.

Tap and pay wherever contactless payments are accepted.

  1. Simply wake up the phone. No need to open the app.
  2. Hold the back of the device near the contactless payment terminal.
  3. The phone will beep or vibrate to show the payment was made. In some cases, the customer may be required to unlock the phone and tap again to complete the transaction
Yes, customers will continue to earn PC Optimum points for every dollar spent on with their loyalty card and be able to redeem their PC Optimum points.  However until further notice, in order to keep earning PC Optimum points from personalized digital offers and on-shelf offers at Loblaw stores they must tap their PC Optimum device (ie. PC Optimum card, , smartphone app, PC Optimum barcode within Google Pay or plastic PC Financial Mastercard) PRIOR to paying with Google Pay.  Therefore, you will need to tap twice during the transaction; first to capture your PC Plus membership and second to capture your payment information. If they simply tap once with Google Pay, it will not recognize their loyalty account and they will not earn their points for that purchase.

Email Fraud
Some President's Choice Financial® services customers have recently received a fraudulent e-mail, also known as phishing or brand spoofing.

Fraudulent e-mails generally ask customers to select a link, leading them to a fraudulent web site that looks like a legitimate financial institution's web site — even duplicating logos and text. Customers are asked to enter personal banking information, which the fraudsters can use to withdraw money, make purchases or open new accounts and credit card accounts in the customer's name. Fraudulent e-mail messages may imply a sense of urgency or immediate risk to bank accounts or credit cards if you fail to answer. Special offers and prizes may also be promoted as incentives.

What to do if you receive this type of e-mail and have not yet responded to it

  • Do not respond to the e-mail — some phishing sites distribute malicious software; do not click on the links provided in the e-mail — visiting these sites could place your computer at risk
  • Email: pcmcfraudops@pcbank.ca so we can investigate — describe the fraudulent incident, making sure to attach or include any fraudulent e-mails you received and any anti-virus/anti-spyware scan logs (if applicable)
  • Permanently delete the e-mail from both your inbox and your deleted items / trash folders

About PC Financial Mobile App

To set up Touch ID on a compatible Apple device:

  1. Tap Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, then enter your passcode.
  2. Tap "Add a Fingerprint".
  3. Follow the instructions on-screen to set up Touch ID.

Each time you open the app, to ensure only you have secure access to your account place your finger on the finger print to access your account. 

If you do not set up your touch ID, you will be asked to enter username and password credentials each time when you open the mobile app.

You can set your notification preferences through your PC Financial account.

On the web

To get started, download the PC Financial Mobile App to your mobile device or tablet from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Once you’ve installed the app, simply sign in with your existing PC Financial username and password or register your account by selecting “Sign up.” For devices that don’t support the PC Financial Mobile App, you can access your account online through your browser by visiting secure.pcfinancial.ca. 
Just like when you sign into pcfinancial.ca through a browser, you must provide your username and password to login to the PC Financial Mobile App. For an extra layer of security, you may also be prompted to answer a Multi-Factor Authentication question from time to time.

With the PC Financial Mobile App, no confidential information is ever stored on your smartphone.

Note: Do not use notes apps or the address book on your smartphone to store your PC Financial account username and password.

Phishing emails and texts are fake messages that try to get you to reveal personal information such as your banking information.

Take these steps to avoid phishing:

If you don’t know who sent you a message, delete it, and do not click any links within the message

Never send any confidential information to anyone through email or text messages.

PC Financial will never send you emails or text messages asking you to confirm your password(s), card numbers, account details or other confidential information.

The PC Financial Mobile App is available in English and French and launches in the language set on your device. If the language set on your device is in a language other than English or French, the app will launch in English. To change the language set on your device, please access your device’s settings. You may also access our secure site from a browser on your device, where you can select either French or English on the sign-in page.

On iOS
You can enable Touch or Face ID on your iOS device to sign into the PC Financial app without a password.
Go to the more menu by tapping the four dots on the bottom of your screen. Tap on “My Profile” and look for “Enable Touch and Face ID”. Toggle the switch to the “on” position (slide right) and follow the steps on-screen to turn on Face or Touch ID.

On Android
You can enable Biometric Authentication to sign into the PC Financial app via Fingerprint.
Go to the more menu by tapping the four dots on the bottom of your screen. Tap on “My Profile” and look for “Enable biometric authentication”. Toggle the switch to the “on” position (slide right) and follow the steps on-screen to turn on Fingerprint.
